Appearance: Jou Shan is about 5'3 and portly; rounded in all the nicest of ways. Do not let this fool anyone. Underneath a rather solid layer of fat is an equally solid layer of muscle. For all other intents and purposes, she appears to be a bipedal red panda. Her body is covered with fur in ruddy-brown and white patches, and she has a long, ruddy tail tipped with white. Her eyes are green, her hair is russet, and she affects a purple streak in it. She prefers to wear a set of leather armor, and often carries a staff around with her.
History: Jou Shan was born a simple farmgirl, raised on a homestead on the Wandering Isle, in truth a very large turtle that swam Azeroth's seas. However, since she was bright and possessed of a curious mind, instead of languishing as a farm hand, she was chosen to attend the Temple of Five Dawns, where the tradition of Pandaren monks was passed down through the generations. She chose Mistweaving as her specialty, preferring to heal wounds above causing them. After a brief adventure through portions of her homeland she'd never even seen before, she was among a number of young monks chosen to accompany the Huojin faction leader in his endeavors to build an embassy in Orgrimmar. She misses her family, as returning to the Wandering Isle is nearly impossible, but she has forged on to become an adventurer in her own right.
While Jou has a nose for trouble--her curiosity tends to lead her to places a more sedate person would avoid--she also has a knack for helping others in trouble, out of it. Hiding a blood elf mage from a madman's wrath made her a very good friend, and she keeps in touch with a number of people across the world of Azeroth.
Personality:"Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself. There is a path before you, but you choose the trials you will face, and the trials you will overcome."
Jou Shan Aleflower grew up a simple farm girl, and for the most part, it shows. She isn't given to putting on airs or holding herself above other people. Due to her monastic training, she was given an education greater than your average farm girl, and that gave her a love of reading. Despite her Huojin training, putting action before thought, Jou tends to alter that a bit, and undertake action WHILE thinking--she's had examples in Ji Firepaw and many of the heroes of the Horde that action can be good, but she also knows that action with no thought can end in sorrow.
Like most Pandaren, she gives of herself totally--once she's named you a friend, you have a friend for life. It will take a great deal to dissuade her from that, but she isn't stupid--harm her enough times, or take advantage where she knows that is what's happening--and, well, she IS a bear. Although one of her master's greatest teachings was "Forget injuries, never forget kindnesses," Jou believes that no one should be a doormat--except a doormat.
As a former farmgirl and a gourmand, Jou believes that food should not be wasted. There were many a Pandaren-sized vermin on the Wandering Isle that would cheerfully steal your vegetables as soon as look at you. However, if she's fond of a person, she will share her excellent cooking and her excellent brew. If she doesn't care for you...well, she is a bear. At best, expect a dressing down. At worst, expect to dodge cookware that has become projectiles.
A typical Pandaren has a tendency to live in the moment. This holds true of Jou as well--while she did not have to deal with the affliction of mainland Pandaria as she grew, her parents told her tales of the Sha, and she also got to experience that first hand when she reached Pandaria itself. It helped reinforce the training that she'd received at the Temple of Five Dawns.
One of Jou's favorite ways to pass the time is a game popular on mainland Pandaria. Called Jihui, the objective is not for one player to win or lose, but for both to arrive at a satisfactory conclusion--technically, for both players to win. (She is also very good at it.)
Abilities: As a Mistweaver, Jou Shan's powers center more around healing than true offense, however, she still uses strikes to build chi, which fuels certain healing techniques. Jou can only have 5 Chi points at one time, and it does diminish over time. However, some of her healing abilities do cost mana as well. Predictably once she finds out about the issue with the Music, she'll probably be leery of casting them...
Renewing Mist - Places a heal-over-time on the target, which will then spread to two other players. Grants 1 Chi.

Soothing Mist - A channeled heal-over-time, with a chance to generate 1 Chi each time it ticks.

Profession Abilities:
Engineering recipes can be found here.
As a profession, Jou chose Goblin engineering, which involves a lot of things that explode (though the strongest is pretty much identical to a stick of dynamite) and other odd gadgets that don't always work. She never took its sister skill of Mining, so she usually relies on bartering and other people to get what she needs to craft things. She can also build a few cute little mechanical pets, though they also aren't really good for anything but companionship. (Watch out for the explosive sheep, though...)
Tailoring recipes can be found here.
Jou never took a specialization in tailoring, preferring to be able to make a broad variety of items like robes, gloves, pants, soft boots, et cetera. Most revenue tends to come from making bags. They range from small belt-pouch like sacks to backpacks that can carry quite a bit. She's also good at repairing things, if necessary, so long as it's cloth. She'll have to find someone else to fix her leather armor, alas.
Inventory: A leather backpack, an arclight spanner (wrench), a De-Weaponized Mechanical Companion (a tiny robotic rabbit that just acts like a rabbit), and a small case containing a Jihui game board and its pieces.
Anything else: Most Pandaren are really good at cooking in general, and as a people love to drink, so learning to brew beer is almost a matter of course. Jou Shan is no exception to this! She's also decent at making tea--having tea with another person one likes is something to build friendship, after all.
